Christmastime is near. To think people must be full of joy and filled with happiness as we are waiting for the day of Jesus, some of our folks will be celebrating it with agony and grief. They were so unlucky that the typhoon Sendong came in and ravished all the hopes and dreams of every individual living in Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Zamboanga and Negros Oriental.

I didn't expect that what used to be a low pressure will become a destructible menace for residents living in the said cities.  It was a very unexpected incident for this folks as they never realized that the river where their houses built overflowed and looked like a pool that killed thousands of lives and made a couple of people missing. No matter how the people held hands praying for salvation, still some of them didn't survive.

The aftermath of this typhoon was too much. Recent information came and it says the death toll almost reach thousands and fatalities were most in women and children ! Not only that, made four hundred people missing as of now. As people mourn for the loss of their loved one, their small properties were washed away by Sendong. They don't have anything with them except for their clothes worn and few valuables.

After what the horror Sendong had given to the millions of residents, the media called the attention of the government and the non-government organizations to extend their hands for them and that they need basic provisions after the storm.

As of now, there are continuous number of dead bodies recovered and millions of people who were lucky enough not to be affected by the storm rushed to donate in forms of money, relief goods and clothing. There are many goods to be repacked but the problem is few only volunteered to do them.

The bottomline of this tragic event is that it is inevitable to have calamities. Believe it or not, we do not know when or how are we going to deal with it, it just comes. It is overwhelming to know that in times of calamities we people hold hands in helping those others who are in utmost need. Also, we do not blame nature for that because it is us who destroyed it and so we have to accept also the consequence. It will be a cold and agony Christmas for some people this year but God will never leave us behind.
