Hooray! It's summer time! Time to beat the heat of the sun with splashing fun! But wait, I'm not referring to beach waters here, this summer season, we spent our precious time more on a nature adventure and that accounts a lot of mountain climbing, trekking and exploring the wonders of our own place. This is my adventurous summer indeed as I loved taking pictures of greens, waters, cave-like structures and anything else I saw. If you love about nature plus splashing afterwards, then maybe going to the spring falls might be suitable for you.
Two years ago, we went to Mainit Spring to find out how wide or how hot the spring is, much to our surprise it doesn't only have a spring but a waterfall few meters away. That time, only few went there to take hot baths or to wash their clothes with their kids. A small pool was made for those people who want to feel the hot water which smells like sulfur. As I was saying, there's a hidden waterfall near to the hot water part. We felt like adventurers risking ourselves trailing the path of rocks. Though a little bit scary and slippery down there, we were amazed to see we were near the waterfalls! There was no people but us in the place but we forbid ourselves to make some noise (we still believe in supernatural beings ya' know)..

This was two years ago, when Mainit Spring was
not yet developed. |

the place was much surrounded with plants.
No proper pathway back then.

One of my uncle said that the cave in front of us can lead us to another falls but I think it's dangerous to climb up there so we decided to stay and start enjoying the spring water. The end of that 2012 Mainit Spring Experience.

I thought that would be our last visit to Mainit Spring when our family decided to spend the holy week in our province in Alegria, Cebu. One of my ate said that so much have changed in Mainit Spring now being developed by the Local Tourism in Malabuyoc. So without hesitation, asking the holy providence to guide us on a Holy Thursday afternoon, we set off to Malabuyoc riding a tricycle.:))

Upon arriving, my ate was right! Mainit Springs changed a lot. Once a free of entrance spring has a fee now of P 10.00 (adults). There were already friendly staffs accommodating you to the cottage where you place your foods and stuffs (coz eating is not allowed once you go to the spring).
So I'm going to show you how Mainit Spring improved a lot:

We were never get close to that cave since our first visit, but now they managed to make a way going up to another falls:)) This is what I didn't see.

probably the longest falls here in Mainit. One
should have the guts to climb that rock out
there and fight the heavy pouring of the
falls and I did:)) |

WOW... that was an awesome experience! I'm glad that the local government of Malabuyoc developed the place. That would generate an income to the municipality as well as could give employment to the locals. Thumbs up, Mainit Springs! I had so much fun!
Special Thanks to Ate Khen for sharing some of these pictures in Facebook:))
