Fun Learning in the digital age,

When books don't serve to feed your understanding, it could be really burdensome to us. We've been spending hours reading and comprehending terminologies we've just encountered and after that, the heck of memorizing comes! Well, the learning process seems to be stagnant at some point but we can't help it but to continue what we've just begun. We may have read it all but the problem is, can we correlate it all as well?

To tell you, there are many ways to learn. Books are not only the solution. One thing that we can learn is to look at them closely by knowing how they are working. Since we live in a century where technology is advanced, getting in touch with the internet is one of the option. Each year, the net community is evolving much to our benefit contributors all over the world want to impart their knowledge to the netizens. Youtube could testify to that. Aside from numerous covers we see in the mainstream are also numerous tutorials we can find in the search list. The how-tos in each field will provide you a lot of information including those infos you didn't know before. Some videos are presented in a lively manner and some are animated for the viewers entertainment.

I'm going to show you the cartoon version of the birth process..from ONCE UPON A TIME - LIFE

One that caught my attention today was a video about PLATELETS and IMMUNITY. Well certainly it is not much of my interest to read it on books but to my surprise, it was presented in a cartoon style! FYI, I love cartoons! I can't leave my childhood memories behind but the video is like what we see in cable channels and it teaches us about how the platelets work in our body. It was really amazing.

And that was the start I'm searching videos relevant to that. You know, I learned a lot from them and I understood it more than I read it in the books. I realized that if parents can be able to introduce this to their children, not only they will find entertainment to these videos but knowledge.

They are really fun to watch. The characters are so cute most especially the platelets, the corpuscles and everyone involving the human body. The next video is a tutorial about how to do the safe and effective phlebotomy procedure..well you can search whatever you want in Youtube:))

Learning doesn't have to limit in books or in the class, you should see it yourself. You should have the perception that as you learn, you store it for a long time and share it. It's more fun if you and your mates share the knowledge and impart it to others as well. Have a productive vacation

Goodbye Filipino Action Movies...

I'm not a typical couch potato.. I choose what I watch and when I watch a certain movie, then that movie must be really special. If you're thinking I'm into Hollywood movies then you're certainly wrong. I'm not one of those retards who prefer watching sci-fi, animated, x-rated, and very nonsense movies. Do you think I'm a critic, well you shouldn't have because I only want to watch OUR OWN movies...the Filipino movies to be exact. 

If you think I'm cheap on choosing our own, then have second thoughts. I'm preferring to the old Filipino movies... where the legends were the ones playing in the silver screen. Whose talents are high-calibered and whose acts are superb that people nowadays can only just remember their memorable lines slashed out from their very tongue. To be honest, I'm fond of watching action movies. Everytime I look back to the classics, I'm always amused how actors like FPJ and Eddie Garcia exchange tactless lines and how the sounds of the bullets excites me the most.

So much for the drama part, what I'm very very disappointed is about the declining of the filipino action movies. The modern cinema only focuses on low rated comedies, romance, and horror movies without giving attention to the action movies. What's this supposed to mean? No one likes action movies anymore? I think not. That would sadden action stars like the late Fernando Poe Jr., Rudy Fernandez, Bong Revilla, Robin Padilla, Lito Lapid and others who made action movies alive during the late 90s. Action movies in the Philippines reached its peak during this time and numerous action movies were produced on this era as compared today. Take note, these movies although lacked with cinematography and effects were outpowered with the acting of these action stars who were ready to combat at any time.. be with weaponry or martial arts. I simply admire these actors.

Well, I don't know what's happening with the modern Philippine cinema. Maybe they're thinking action movies will not be anymore a hit to the public so much it's obviousness the industry starts to face its downfall. Actors nowadays are also not in the levels of the aforementioned action stars coz they're maybe afraid of getting a scar on their faces. Such a gay, clinging on to fancy romantic movies and always think of money! Such a shame, really! No one would ever want to take the steps of the next FPJ or Eddie Garcia..or no one would ever want to be a bad boy like Robin Padilla..the world today is way different than yesterday so to say. 

Although the Philippine cinema changed a lot, we can always look back to what has been the golden years. We can always witness them by watching those movies again. With that, we can always compare and contrast the changes brought by the time. So I guess I'll say GOODBYE to the downfall of the Filipino action movies and say 'BOO' to the lousy movies of today. What a bitter reality it's the Philippines' loss again!

PREVALENCE OF ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCT IN NORMOLIPIDEMIC PATIENTS

Journal Critique in Cardiovascular Risk Factors in Elderly Normolipidemic Acute Myocardial Infarct Patients in India by CINDY  ESCOBA, PEARL HARRIETTE RAMIREZ, CHARISH PUENTENEGRA and GERARDINE CAÑETE under MR. JULIUS P. MARIO Faculty of the College of Medical Technology of Southwestern University, Cebu City

The concern of the uprising cases of myocardial infarction in patients had been tremendously looked upon by the researchers to come up with valuable parameters in determining myocardial infarction. Basically, they focused on the cardiovascular risk factors which are mainly associated with the disease but monitored with normolipidemic patients. With the emphasis of coronary artery disease, various conditions have shown that lipid levels play a crucial role in dealing cases with myocardial infarction due to free radical generation and ischemia. Facts pertaining to the importance of observing high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in the introduction had been essentially explained as well as its mechanisms involving oxidation by the antioxidant enzyme system. The objectives presented are clear enough in accordance with the study and is in parallel with the use of practical instrumentations conducive to the researchers’ benefit. The abstract directly interpreted the significant results but with lesser elucidation as to how relevant is determining the risk factors in elderly normolipidemic AMI patients.

The methodologies used in the study are well-established. The normolipidemic status is judged by several diagnostic criteria. Although there is a thorough selection of patients but there is no explanation stated as to why they come to exclude several patients with diabetes mellitus or those with renal insufficiency. There is specificity of the methods employed to every parameter but there should have been an elaboration on the method’s principle why the researchers are in favor to use it. With its wide-variety selection of tests, this study can not be easily duplicated since all chemicals are of analytical grade and are some are manufactured and obtained from other countries. The advancement of technology in their country set an edge towards their study as quantitation is concerned.

The results obtained from the various methods are presented in a tabulated manner. The tables are differentiated according to the patient’s status and other biochemical parameters in patients. Moreover, the controls used provided a solid foundation for the basis of their study. A further justification of the legends has to be revised since some of it doesn’t correspond to the table shown. The discussion points out the risk factors that can serve as markers for detecting acute myocardial infarctions. The interpretation of results was carefully evaluated by the researchers such then there were some redundancy upon the antioxidants’ mechanism involving the disease. However, recommendations are indicated as to evaluation of other inflammatory markers to be given further consideration.

The topic and the research framework are appropriate for the journal. It clearly relates to the ideas discussed in the study. The abstract presented a brief yet an accurate summary of the article that defines its purpose, methodology and the discussion. The ideas are well-designated to its corresponding paragraphs in a sense that it correlates to the results. The proponents have conveyed understanding upon the readers as well as it exhibits a clearer picture of the problem. In general, the presented research study is logical and significant.

INVESTIGATORY PROJECT: Solar Power House

ABSTRACT

       

        This study determined the efficacy of sun as alternative solar energy. The solar energy panel were tested and produced by group of professionals and some companies. We found out that the sun can give nor produce electricity by a certain process. But this certain solar energy panel were so rare because of its less production and excessive price.

INTRODUCTION

Electricity is one of the most important component in the world. Most people now use electricity to run devices or any machines that shorten human works and also most of the technology or things now that have been used at outdoor or indoor activities requires electricity.

The solar energy panel is one of the most liable component that can produce electricity through the sun and solar energy is rechargeable and can be conserve.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this activity is to know if the sun can produce electricity and how it was produced on its process. Also to know how solar energy affect the life of human beings and the environment and also to know how it will help and solve our daily problems in electricity.

MATERIALS

• Styro foam

PROCEDURE

Ø Make a artificial house in a platform styro foam

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

Therefore we conclude that the sun can produce electricity by a certain process. The Sun produces energy by the nuclear fusion of hydrogen into helium in its core. What that means is that, since there is a huge amount of hydrogen in the core, these atoms stick together and fuse into a helium atom. This energy is then radiated out from the core and moves across the solar system.

We recommend everyone to use solar energy instead of powerplant electricity because solar energy can produce electicity interms of natural calamity crisis,shortage of electricity and also it can save and help financially.

Bakit hindi ako crush ng crush ko?

As I pondered upon the above mentioned line, it inflicted pain for me realizing that I can't always get what I want. The fear of not being loved in return, that's what I'm afraid of. Huhu:'(( It's not that I'm over reacting but the bitter reality struck me at the very least. Just like in this scenario where there's this someone I like but that 'until here' feeling arouses whenever my ignited spirit imagines the odd things of me and him far from happening.

HIm. haha..I don't know his name but.....secret! shhh!!

So I should beat around the bush, what I want to relay guys is this feeling of having a crush but the question is, does this crush have the same feeling as mine? Will the love be reciprocated with his or will there be only one-sided love aside? These underlying questions have been fluttering inside me when all I can do is suppress all of these feelings from revealing. 

So crush, what about it?.Does it make sense in our lives? Is there a big deal? Yeah, I guess so because for me, a crush is not just about getting attracted by his looks, charisma or charm but someone that you admire and will serve as an inspiration (aside from your family and friends). He's one of your reasons why you do a lot of effort on something to be noticed. It is in him your ideals about love bloom because of the wildest imaginations the our minds can produce. Char!

To be honest, I have lots of crushes! I feel kilig whenever I see their pictures in my tab. My heart throbs as I saw their deep mysterious smiles and I melt with joy for the fancies of me and him singing songs together full of zeal. I got a crush on celebrities like Ian Somerhalder, Jericho Rosales and Ignacio Reyes to name a few:)) In school, I got crushes too but some of them died out. Haha.. It depends on how frequent I see the person or how related is he to my friends. So it's mostly I got a crush to a classmate. Haha but that was before.

What happened today urged me to write this article:)) WOW! This day is so amazing and at the same time unexpected to think that I already have a pic of me and my crush Yokohama-san together:)) Special thanks to my classmates especially Queenie for making the picture taking possible. I didn't expect it.I just can't stop smiling seeing his face, his eyes! WAAAH! He's so cute:)) so sad he has his girl already:(( but then again that's OK. As long as I don't see them together, that would be fine. That will make my day complete and he will inspire me more and more. HAHAHA..

Since we are in this world endowed with limitless imaginations, expectations will never be out of place. Our feelings might grow and chances are we might assume that the person we fall in love to might have the same feelings but just can't tell us straightway. We tend to hope that maybe there's a way that we and that person might end up together. Whew! How I wish!

But as I look myself in a mirror, realities come to slap me on the face. I'm not beautiful, I'm not sexy, I'm unattractive...those negative remarks of myself pushed me to wake up and stop dreaming. Then suddenly, I came to realize that no one would get attracted by me and certainly not the likes of him because he probably has his own standards. Ouch! That he would rather prefer sexy, pretty and attractive women than me:'(

I know that this problem does not only concern me as this is considered a slice of everyone's lives. A part of our life where feelings overflow because our admiration on someone, secretly. A crush will be a crush and the possibility of being together will be there. But, let not our hearts be hardened.... coz Love will come in a right place and in a right time. It falls into place and is patient. If we will just wait and see:)) 

So if somebody will ask me, 'Bakit hindi ka crush ng crush mo?'..I'll simply answer it in a song:

We are all humans.. we die. In memoriam to our neighbor and to Atty. Noel Archival

The death of the known lawyer was the headline in the
newspaper and in the television

It was around 7 PM when I reached home. Although it was a little bit tiring and a stressful day for me, but still, I thanked God for the day well done by doing the sign of a cross in the nearby chapel. As I opened the gate and headed towards the door, I noticed silence filled the atmosphere. I heard no loud screams from the karaoke station, no children playing inside the chapel, some street lights were off and our dogs not barking. I think that was one of the peaceful nights in Purok 2 that I've observed.

Now, as I clutched the knob opening the main door, I saw the skeptical faces of my family members telling me to get inside as they have something to tell me. Look, I'm not used to this strangeness because if they act something like this then I presume they will be telling me a bad news. I can see all of them wanted to break the silence as my heart was pounding already thinking what happened or was anything wrong since I left. Unimaginable things started to pour out in my mind as I waited for them to tell me... until kuya Raprap initiated.

Then there it was, someone died. Not in the family (thank heavens!) but it is the neighbor.... the neighbor we had a spite for a long time... being ambushed.

Upon hearing the news, my jaw dropped. I just can't believe to what I just heard. Him? Well, that's unlikely to happen because I do believe in the saying that 'Weeds don't die easily'. At first, I really don't believe in them but my sister, Cherry confirmed that they saw it on a local news program (Balitang Bisdak on GMA7) with his name recognized.

I uttered in disbelief to what happened to him. His death was sudden and I was really shocked, I really am because first and foremost, we considered him as the 'kontrabido'.. He was the one that caused us so much trouble since we settled in the place because he claimed our land as his own despite of the legal documents and other sufficient evidence we presented just to prove that we own the land. I remembered he's always sending us subpoena calling the presence of my mother to attend the hearing. For me, he's the superior and pompous neighbor that we have because he's taking lands not his own and he generated money by using them but despite of his wrong doings we remained silent just to have a peaceful life and acted like we don't care. We know he keeps on stoning us but we just laughed at him secretly.

When I heard he was ambushed, his death is no joke. It was brutal. Since he's one of the bodyguards of a well-known lawyer here in Cebu, they should have been given protection. The story was that they were from a trial case when the crime happened. While driving back to Cebu City, they happened to pass a quiet barangay in Dalaguete when suddenly armed men got near to their car then started shooting them. It was a tragic one to look upon them as pictures in the news and in the net started to flash in. The lawyer, the driver and him were killed in an instant with one survived but his arm has to be amputated. 

The tragic incident 

Right now, I do realize that his time is up. Fate has to cut his string and he has to embark into a new life in which only God knows what will happen. Although he was that hostile neighbor I've known ever since my world began but I pity his family. He left his five children with a housewife doing sideline. How will they suppose to live then? I can feel the pain of his wife regretting since they had a misunderstanding the night before it happened.

Then my premonitions were proved wrong and I was drawn into a conclusion that people, no matter how good or bad will have to face the end. Death will put verdict into our lives and it is in death we will come to realize that we are just humans whose body will perish and all of us will be subjected to trial  with God as the judge. 

Despite of all the things, I will still pray for you Sir, to attorney and the driver... May you Rest in peace
